Becca Parrish began her career in journalism. Working as a features reporter for the Montgomery Advertiser, the daily newspaper in Alabama‘s capital, she won a Southeast Associated Press Writing Award and a Publisher‘s Award before moving to New York to pursue a career in public relations. With 15 years in the PR and media business, Becca worked at some of New York City’s leading firms before venturing out to form BeccaPR. Since setting up her own shop, Becca has built long-term relationships with premiere media and several of the country’s most recognized and acclaimed chefs, including Tom Colicchio of Craft restaurants, Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin and Scott Conant of Scarpetta. She has worked with legendary Manhattan restaurants Le Cirque, The Odeon and Café Luxembourg. Her hotel experience includes The Cooper Square Hotel, the Empire Hotel and the Hotel on Rivington on the Lower East Side. In Las Vegas, BeccaPR represents the food and beverage programs for both Wynn and Encore, the new signature resort in the Wynn collection.

For Becca and her team, finding the good stories and the right place for them is both an art and a thrill. A native of Pensacola, Florida, Becca earned a master‘s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor‘s degree in English literature from Florida State University. She received a six-week fellowship from the Poynter Institute for Media Studies in St. Petersburg, Florida. When not PR-ing, she sings with the band Milton.

Tammy Walker joined Becca PR in January 2005. She has focused her career on working with nationally acclaimed New York chefs and restaurants, including chef Tom Colicchio’s Craft restaurants, the legendary Odeon, and West Village speakeasy, Employees Only. Previously, she was with Baltz & Company where she worked closely with Marcus Samuelsson of Aquavit, David Waltuck of Chanterelle and Tyler Florence of the Food Network. At the marketing and PR firm LaForce & Stevens, she contributed to national PR campaigns for leading consumer brands such as Cadbury-Adams and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, launching new products such as Dentyne Fire® and Krispy Kreme’s line of signature coffees. A graduate of The University of Texas in Austin, Tammy began her professional PR career at Melissa Libby & Associates in Atlanta, where she turned a personal passion for food and wine into a career, helping to open local locations of national chains and assisting in media outreach and event planning for local restaurant groups.

Helen Medvedovsky joined BeccaPR in February 2007 after a 10-year career in food & beverage and consumer public relations. Previously, she was vice president of hospitality at KB Network News, where she had the opportunity to manage and oversee restaurant, hotel and lifestyle accounts such as Wynn Las Vegas, Steve Wynn’s preeminent resort, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, NJ, Kerry Simon’s SIMON LA restaurant and The Carlyle Hotel. Before embarking on her hospitality PR career, Helen worked at Stanton Crenshaw Communications on accounts such as The Weather Channel, Starbucks and CNBC TV. After five years in consumer public relations, she was introduced to the world of hospitality PR and found she could marry her love of restaurants, food and entertaining with her job. Helen earned a B.S. in Mass Communication from Boston University, College of Communication in 1997. A native of New Jersey, she now resides in Brooklyn with her husband.

Lauren Fonda joined BeccaPR to further her longtime interest in the restaurant industry. A native of Los Angeles, Lauren moved to New York in 2001 to attend New York University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts with a major in print journalism. During her time at NYU, she completed several editorial internships at publications including Marie Claire and New York magazine, where she contributed to the website’s nightlife section. Additionally, Lauren’s feature writing has been published in the Eat Out section of Time Out New York. After graduation, she worked as a supervisor with RICE restaurants. After two years, Lauren realized that she missed her writing roots and turned to hospitality PR as a way to combine her creativity with her love of the culinary world.

Jackie DeGiorgio joined BeccaPR after working in the PR department for the New York restaurant group, B.R. Guest. In 2008, Jackie completed her Master of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations at Iona College, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Siena College. While finishing her Master's degree, Jackie worked in public relations and event planning for Frames/Leisure Time Bowl. After spending her high school years working at Topp’s Pastry Shop in Bronxville, she knew she wanted to incorporate food into her career. Following her college graduation, she waited tables at Ruby Foo’s in Times Square before working full time in the B.R. Guest corporate offices.
